Water was fast moving, camp area was huge. Wasps like to come out during the day and hang out by the fire pit area. They release salmon into the water that’s located in the campsite

We LOVE Hard Rock as it is a private campsite with a wonderful view and a lot of space.
Generations of our family have loved this spot as they are local to the Blue River community.
My only problem is there needs to be a sign as more and more strangers ignore there is a gate and walk-in. Some are friendly when approached, some say this is a public spot and insist they can walk into our campsite. I think that could be fixed with a big sing " Reservable Private Campground" with an indication to go to rec.gov or see camp host at French Pete by the gate where H Rock sign is. It is only this year we are getting met with aggressive people that say the sign doesn't indicate private. Therefore I canceled the rest of this year's camping here because of the trespassers being aggressive.

This is a simple group stop that is super private, clean, and right on the river. We have been coming here for years. The camp host is in a nearby campground (French Pete) if you need them but overall, no one is near. There is a swimming hole/fishing spot along a private trail. Plenty of parking and spots to share. This is where we camp with our large breed dogs as they get to roam and play in the river as well.
If you are lucky, in August you will witness a salmon drop as this campground is one of the salmon spots where they release the salmon after retrieving them from the Cougar Dam.
Hard to get this spot as we tend to book a year in advance.

My Husband rented this secluded campsite for my birthday and it was perfect. All the benefits of Car Camping with the seclusion of backpacking.
