Stay was great because it was our first time being there, but I will not come back during the yellow jacket season.

Nice place! The lake access is really good and the setting is spectacular.
During our visit there were a few management problems:
1. bear boxes were non-functional.
2. water was non-potable (and it was not posted whether it would be OK if boiled)
3. bathrooms were locked, but port-a-potties were there, but needed servicing
Also quite close to the highway so quite a bit of car and truck noise.

We stopped here for the night on a road trip from San Fransisco to Seattle.
-easy to book last minute
-they are not often fully booked
-cheap compared to other campgrounds
-BEAUTIFUL camp and beautiful walking paths into the woods right behind our tent
-would stay here again in a heartbeat.
our only mistake was to not track down the bathroom on our way in. it's a long walk from you tent in the dark!

Great camp site . Big and spread out room for kids the play . Only issue wasn't with the campground but with campers driving a bit fast in the gravel kicking up dust .

Good spaces, lots of shade. There were several bee's nests and active bees.

Campground was okay - facilities were clean. Best to reserve ahead because there is very limited reception at the campground itself. Some of the RVs ran generators until nearly 10 pm, making for a loud and not that relaxing camp experience.

Campsite 26 at Schwarz Park - A Crowded Oasis of Fun!
Our experience at campsite 26 in Schwarz Park was a delightful adventure, despite the unintentional overcrowding that was solely our oversight. This campsite, located amidst stunning natural surroundings, offered an array of enjoyable features, with the highlight being the close proximity to refreshing swimming holes.
Campsite 26 provided a cozy and comfortable spot for our stay. Although the campsite was a bit crowded, it did not deter us from appreciating the beauty of the park. The well-maintained facilities, including clean restrooms and convenient amenities, added to the overall convenience and comfort of our camping experience.
One of the highlights of our visit was the proximity to inviting swimming holes. These natural gems provided a respite from the summer heat and offered hours of fun and relaxation. The crystal-clear water and serene ambiance of the swimming holes made it an ideal spot to unwind and connect with nature.
While the unintentional overcrowding was solely our oversight, it is important to note that the facility was not at fault. The staff remained friendly and accommodating, ensuring that campers had an enjoyable experience despite the high number of visitors.
In conclusion, campsite 26 at Schwarz Park provided us with a memorable camping adventure. The close proximity to refreshing swimming holes added an extra layer of enjoyment to our stay. Although the campsite was crowded, the natural beauty, well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff made it a worthwhile experience. We would highly recommend campsite 26 to those looking for a fun-filled getaway, but be sure to review the map beforehand to better plan your visit and make the most of the close-by swimming holes.

The best thing about this park is that the campsites are far enough apart to feel like there is some sense of seclusion while having the advantages of flush toilets. It is close enough to Dorena Lake for kayaking, biking, and hiking. It is alcohol-free, kid-friendly, with lots of space for large groups if that's your thing. Everyone is respectful and helpful.
