The staff was super friendly and made sure our reserved spot stayed open for us! My friend and I had gotten a little lost on our way back from hiking around Crater Lake all day, and apparently someone else wanted our spot. Really glad they didn’t let them do that, we loved this campground far better than the one we were at the previous night.
Perfect amount of tree shade, beautiful views, easy access to the lake, all our camping neighbours were super friendly as well! Will definitely be returning here!

Nice, relatively quiet campground. Try to get a spot near the lake. Don't forget the 10 minutes drive to Shelter cove to see the mass of PCT hikers enjoy the luxury of a campground with shower!

I’ll start with the good.. i love the lakeside spots! It was nice to have the shallow water right there to sit in a chair and play with the dogs in and launch our water toys. The water was wonderful and the view of the lake was beautiful.
However.. Our double lakeside campsite that i paid over $60 for was the ONLY campsite in the whole campground that wasn’t either cautioned off for obvious reasons or cleaned up. I took a walk around the other sites and ours was again the ONLY one not cleaned up.we could barely fit three tents in a DOUBLE site. There were fallen trees, not even attempted to be cleaned up, roots sticking up everywhere, debris everywhere, it was almost unusable and I’m still debating asking for a refund and/or two free nights in a campsite I don’t have to worry about hurting myself in. (I did get a black eye by tripping on something so guess i did get hurt) not really a happy camper 🤷♀️🤷♀️ I will stay in one of or rather any of the other cleaned up usuable lakeside spots in the future because the lake itself was beautiful.

Very nice campground. Would definitely return if we got a space right on the lake. We have a 21 foot trailer and had to use 30 blocks to level and most sites appeared to be similar. The only other issue was difficulty launching our kayaks from other people's campsites.

Our site had an uphill climb and took some manipulation to get the trailer level. Intermediate to advanced back in site for trailer. It worked for me but a novice may be challenged

Very noisy near the highway. A lot of deferred maintenance on the interior roads. Nice launch ramp. Beautiful lake. Can't wait to go back.

The campground is near the highway but the setting cancels that out. It was a lovely campground. It was very convenient to both Odell resort sites. No water on site. We got 3 - 5 gallon water bags filled at another site after we arrived. It was more than enough water for 4 people for 3 nights. We heard site 12 and 11 are very windy. We were a site just off from there.
We would go back again. The hosts come and go. There was a campfire during the restrictions no one there to fine the violators. My fellow campers asked me not to confront violators. I do regret this.

My reservation site 16 was on the water and away from the highway that was placed months in advance to accommodate my family was deemed "unsafe" due to the tip of a tree that was broken. Yet many people were seen accessing the site.No notice in advance was made to notify me. No refund was offered. Was told to use site 1 with no accommodations. It was much smaller than my reserved site. Plus there was no camp host on site and had to drive to next campground sunset campground to get answers why this happens and was rudely greeted with no answers nor accommodations to rectify the situation. Will not be recommending nor ever camping at either site again.

This was a very nice campground. Lots of trees and shade. Downside was that if you didn’t have a site directly on the lake it was difficult to access the lake other than the boat ramp. Sites were spacious and with a 28’ travel trailer I had no problem backing in. It’s a truly dry camping experience as there is no water available. Only vault toilets. The hosts were very personable but didn’t stay directly at the campground - they were at a campground down a ways. The campground is close to the main highway so you can hear some highway noise but it didn’t bother us at night. Overall, it was a very good experience.

General
- This is a no water facility so campers will need to bring their own supply.
- Prevent the spread of invasive species by inspecting and cleaning packs, equipment and tires before using lake or trails.
- Please Note: One RV with tow vehicle per single site or one vehicle per single tent site. Two RV’S with tow vehicle per double site or two vehicles per double tent site. Most sites can accommodate 1 extra vehicle that is not included with the reservation fee. Extra vehicle will be charged a per night fee and collected at the campground.
- Fire Restrictions: Fire restrictions may be imposed at any time due to hot, dry weather conditions, at which time campfires and charcoal fires may not be allowed.
- During your time in Central Oregon, you can find wildfire, prescribed fire and smoke information at centraloregonfire.org
- Reserved Sites will be held until the day following your arrival date. Sites must be occupied by the checkout time of that following day to hold a reservation or the site will be forfeited and released to other guests. Once your reservation start date has begun, neither the Recreation.gov Contact Center nor the campground manager will be able to modify your reservation.
- Refunds: Refund requests made through www.recreation.gov will be charged a $10 processing fee. This fee is retained by the reservation service contractor along with the non-refundable reservation fee. All requests for the return of the non-refundable reservation fee and the cancellation fee will be declined by the campground concessionaire as they did not receive these fees (these are the fees retained by the reservation contractor, a different entity).

- Camping or otherwise occupying a single location (including leaving camping equipment and/or related supplies) for a period longer than 14 consecutive calendar days is prohibited. ‘Location’ means the occupied area, the occupied campsite, and the National Forest System lands in the immediate vicinity thereof. Camping or occupying any location on all National Forest lands for more than 28 calendar days total during a calendar year is prohibited.
- NO generator use is allowed in campgrounds between and . Silent power banks or battery powered devices are allowed.
