Boulder Flat Campground

Beautiful campground all sites on the river. Site 1 rv pad was too sloped for us but all the other sites are fine. Did catch whiffs of the outhouse now and then but not too bad. Raft launch also available. Highly recommend eating at Steamboat Inn nearby. Lots of trails and falls to explore in the area. Diamond Lake is an easy drive as well.

The campsites were clean along with the restroom near our campsite. Easy access to the beautiful North Umpqua. The highway was barely able to be heard because of the soothing sounds of the river. Our family really enjoyed it there and will be definitely camping there again.

This is a nice little campground on the river. I saw river otters almost everyday so that was a real treat. There is new growth along the river now than from when the pictures were taken of the site on the reservation app. Most of the river view is blocked from the campsite and completely from the picnic table. The spot to view the river was on a slope so there really wasn’t anywhere to put a chair and just sit and enjoy it. This site does not not have a tucked away private area like many of the other sites here and there is little privacy from the road. The site next to this one is amazing and I wish I had known that because it was empty many of the days while I was camping here. Next time!!!

Other than the occasional odor from the vault toilet wafting over our campsite it was lovely.

Amazing spot. It's right by the road but the river is so loud that you would never know. Sites are basically all good locations though some have more visibility of the water than others. Only concern is that there is an extremely large amount of poison Ivy throughout the campground. If your kids want to wander through the woods, than this would be a major problem.

There was no potable water, but the sites were beautiful, private, and right on the river.

During our recent stay, we experienced a significant issue with the campsite reservation system that created confusion and unnecessary stress.

Our reservation was for Site #1 for four nights. When we arrived at the campground, the reservation tags posted at the campsites did not match our Recreation.gov reservations. Our name was posted on Site#2 for only two nights, and there was no indication of our reservation for remaining nights. The campers who had occupied the site before us told us they had experienced a similar issue because their reservations in Sites #1 and #2 had also been mixed on the camp signs.
Because there was little to no cell service , we had to drive several miles before we could contact Recreation.gov. After waiting on hold, we verified through my account that our reservation still correctly showed Site #1 for all four nights.

There was also no camp host available to resolve the discrepancy. Had a camp host been present, the issue might have been resolved quickly on-site.

Fortunately, I had printed copies of our reservation confirmation before the trip. We returned to Site #1, set up camp, and posted a copy of our reservation at the campsite in case there were questions about occupancy. Without those printed documents, it would have been much harder to confidently occupy the correct site.
Although we ultimately enjoyed our stay and encountered no further problems, the incorrect campsite postings, lack of cell service and absence of a camp host created unnecessary uncertainty. We spent much of the first day wondering whether we would return from sightseeing to find someone else occupying our campsite.
Please review the process used to create and post campsite reservation tags so they accurately match the Recreation.gov reservation system. This is especially important in remote campgrounds where campers may have limited ability to verify reservations or resolve problems.

We love camping here but do not understand why the Forest Service does not replace the vault toilet across from sites 5,6,7. It is an abomination. When the door is open, like when it's being "cleaned," it takes your breath away. Can they not pump it out more frequently or add height to the exhaust chimneys. Many many people over the last few years have commented on this yet nothing every changes

The campsite was clean and quiet and great access to the river. We loved it!

Great spot in the Campsite. Only issue was think the campsite has quite am incline due to water movements I am assuming as it is at a lower level.
