Very large beautiful campsites not far from the south boat launch, day use area and pizza parlor at Diamond Lake. Only downfall is the cleanliness of the showers and bathrooms. There was a literal thick layer of mold in the showers, along with dead cockroaches and lots of cobb webs. Also, no soap is provided in the restrooms, so make sure you bring your own. Besides that, the campground is amazing. Lots of bike riding trails and cute chipmunks that will eat out of your hand.

It was the first time at a forest service campground that the bathrooms were very dirty. There was so much hair in the shower that I thought it was an animal. Whoever u hire to clean is not doing even a fair job. Other than that the camp host was friendly and we had fun.

Broken Arrow – a decent compromise.
The Good: Great tasting potable water; a decent dump station for RV’s; Flush restrooms; A nice pay shower facility; decent grey-water dump vaults handy to most camp sites. J-Loop is now individual site reservation, rather than having to rent the total loop which separated one part of the group from the rest. Fewer bugs now that the thickets of small trees have been cut out. Hike/Bike to Silent Creek is a favorite. Bike 12 miles around the lake is a great outing for those that can. Verizon coverage good, but extended and not 4G. Pizza at South Store!
The Not-So-Good: Quite a way from the lake and no lake view (but only a short drive to enjoy the lake) Restrooms are old and frequently have broken or leaky pipes; The garbage is often not emptied at the beginning of a busy weekend (good thing no bears). The contractors that clean the restrooms are marginal at best the last few years – RR dirty at the start of a weekend and throughout the weekend; We have seen RR’s completely out of toilet paper (Seriously???) There is obviously no deep-cleaning done. Tree roots have pushed the pavement up everywhere, making it a bit rough on RV’s (go s-l-o-w). Host was fanatical about paying $5 for extra vehicles even though we had two sights paid for sitting empty from people who couldn’t make it. USFS is quite arbitrary is determining what is a double site vs single resulting in no Gold Age discount in doubles. AT&T (and related) NOT in the CG, but ok at the boat ramp. Buy block ice ahead - $8 a bag for marginal ice
The campground is in a general state of decline, (no logging = minimal money for maintenance), but we still choose it as a workable compromise of location, price, and “camp-ability” of a mix of tents and RV’s. USFS and resort folks are generally quite helpful!
