there was a very very loud family in the campsite opposite to us and there was no ranger patrolling to control such loud and unruly behavior. they were playing extremely loud music for several hours stealing the calming experience one is trying to seek in nature

Absolutely LOVED this place! Not only was the place beautiful, but the staff was excellent as well. I’d definitely drive up from California again just to stay here.

Our experience was somewhat negative thru no fault of the park or the staff. Seems the previous occupants of the site inadvertently left a dead fish in the reeds at the edge of the lake behind our site. Stunk bad. We located a host who came by and removed it, but the whole process of ridding ourselves of the situation took most of our weekend stay. Also lots of gophers and ground squirrels. Need more hawks and foxes! We had also chose a smoky weekend, but we knew that going in.

On my 2+ week trip to a bunch of national parks/monuments/forests, this was my favorite campground! The campground host was extremely friendly, there was plenty of distance between the campsites, and there were even clean showers available for use on a by-donation use. Plus, the view of the sunset over the lake was to die for!

Stayed 2 nights at Diamond Lake. Peaceful evenings. Great location to many hiking trails, waterfalls and Crater Lake NP. We evens had a view of the lake from our site. We highly recommend staying at Diamond Lake CG.

Crowded and noisy campground. The host was helpful in trying to manage the unruly campers, but without success

The campground host came to our campsite telling us off for having a very small campfire. We had just come from a different campground where they allowed a campfire and we’re not aware it was prohibited there. I hadn’t read any of the boards yet and no-one mentioned it when we checked in. It was a tiny fire and we were going to make a couple S’mores for the kid.Of course we put it out immediately we are not rule breakers. Later the camper next to us lit a huge campfire and kept it going, flames sparking all night while they stayed up drinking. In the morning my husband saw 2 other campfires from the lake while kayaking. Feels like the rules should be enforced the same across the board. Also there was a huge group of guys drinking all day and nights Friday night thru Sunday morning and that was the second big drinking party that was by us even though the rules say no alcohol either. Feel very picked on, maybe it was our old Chevy camping van that made her feel it was ok to treat us differently.

Beautiful and well maintained campground. The camping areas themselves are solid and you cannot beat the views of Diamond Lake.
