The campground host came to our campsite telling us off for having a very small campfire. We had just come from a different campground where they allowed a campfire and we’re not aware it was prohibited there. I hadn’t read any of the boards yet and no-one mentioned it when we checked in. It was a tiny fire and we were going to make a couple S’mores for the kid.Of course we put it out immediately we are not rule breakers. Later the camper next to us lit a huge campfire and kept it going, flames sparking all night while they stayed up drinking. In the morning my husband saw 2 other campfires from the lake while kayaking. Feels like the rules should be enforced the same across the board. Also there was a huge group of guys drinking all day and nights Friday night thru Sunday morning and that was the second big drinking party that was by us even though the rules say no alcohol either. Feel very picked on, maybe it was our old Chevy camping van that made her feel it was ok to treat us differently.

The camp hostess was extremely wonderful to talk to. She checked in with us about fire safety, explained why we couldn’t have fire. Our site was secluded and very clean.

A lovely campground and super Lake for swimming. A bit windy in the afternoons but calm nights. Mosquitoes were not a problem for us. Lakefront loops beware the afternoon sun.. bring a canopy or find a site with lots of trees. We will definitely return!

This site was large. It had a lot of logs that could easily roll down hill into other campers. A bit of a hazard.
Very close to the road....
Diamond Lake is a Gem and is worth the trip every time.

Was told nearly every day we were there that “tonight” would be the last night for camp fires, and tomorrow it would be banned. I actually asked specifically as we were checking in because of the “EXTREME FIRE DANGER “ signage on the side of the road. I was fine without a fire, but was confusing. Also, with all of the money spent by campers, and the requested donations for a shower, I think it’s time for them to spruce up, or at least repair and clean the showers and rest rooms.
