Lone Pine Group Campground offers a peaceful and clean environment, with friendly and helpful camp hosts. The campground features covered areas for games, dog-friendly spaces, and is conveniently located near stores and scenic hiking trails. However, it is important to note that campfires are not permitted, which should be clearly communicated on reservation platforms.

Great campground; loved having a covered area to play games, spits for the dogs to play, and more!

It was peaceful and clean. Price was great and not to far from a store if need to resupply.

I would have been nice to know that Lone Pine was one of the only campgrounds in the entire state that did not allow campfires in their fire pits, even when both the USFS, and DFPA were still in Low fire danger. This needs to be clearly posted on the reservation page so you don’t book the campsite and only find out when you get there that you cannot have fires. Even though the campground said it was completely booked, less than half the campgrounds were actually occupied. The one positive point of the campground was the camp host. She was by far the most friendly, and helpful camp host I’ve ever been around.

Campsites and restrooms were clean. The camp host was very friendly and helpful. We actually had the entire camp ground to our selves so that was nice too. It's short walk to Rock Creek, where we were able to stay cool during the afternoon heat.
Would stay here again.

The camp host from Mill Pond also worked the Lone Pine campground. Very friendly, very conscientious about keeping restrooms clean and concerned about defensible "fire" pace around the area and just overall grooming of the common areas etc. This campground is small, so it is quiet and/or no one complains about too much noise, if so. It does offer some privacy between sites.

A very nice campground. It was mostly filled up. Very quiet and nice views of the surrounding mountains. Only one thing negative that our site had ants and they migrated into the RV. Other than that we had a really nice Memorial Day weekend campout. We will come back and try a different spot. 5 & 6 look very accommodating.

This campground was initially established as a group reservation location but this year they opened it up for a limited time to individual campers and we actually had the whole campground to ourselves! They have cleaned up the campground of the fire debris and it is a comfortable quiet place to camp. There are still some evergreens that help with shade and the surrounding hillside was full of green shrubbery and wildflowers. Across the road, is the Millpond campground (not reopened yet) but there are some good swimming holes where Rock Creek runs through it. There are some good waterfalls hiking trails just up Highway 138 towards Diamond and Crater Lake.
