About Millpond Recreation Site

THIS LOCATION IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE DUE TO WILDFIRE DAMAGE. Nestled along the clear waters of Rock Creek, Millpond’s lush forest gives way to spacious grassy areas, great for day-use and running the kids and dogs. A children's play area, a large ball-field, interpretive panels, and swimming areas are all available at Millpond. There is a short nature trail on the west end of the campground and the mile-long Sawmill Trail to the east.  In 1988 congress designated the North Umpqua River as a National Wild and Scenic River, preserving and protecting it for outdoor enthusiasts. The river is a tributary of the Umpqua River, which runs for over 200 miles from the Cascade Range of southwestern Oregon to the Pacific Ocean.

My husband and I got married at the Pavilion in 2018, and were so excited to spent the weekend of our 2 year anniversary camping there.
We were not disappointed. I was beautiful and everything we expected and hoped it would be.
We left the day before the fire hit.
He are absolutely heartbroken but hope it is still standing.
It is an absolutely beautiful place with amazing people who take excellent care of the site.

The small pea-gravel is a little too much, would rather have regular ground cover, or blacktop. The vault toilets were clean and very little odor. Wish the flush toilets were a little closer to the camping spots.

Lovely campground, it had more mosquitos than I was hoping but it was a great place to spend the night.

Clean camp spots, perfect for our family of 4! Hosts were great and there’s a nice swimming hole within walking distance. Small playground near pavilion
