The site is a drive through that is very convenient for an RV or trailer. The water is very close to the site. The boat ramp and beach are nearby within a short distance.

Overall, it was a good experience. It was mid-July so the mosquitoes had substantially subsided since June. I used to stay here for years and years and was struck that no maintenance to the campsites had been done. Bushes were over grown and spots are narrow so you step out of the truck and you are right in the overgrown bushes and with ticks being a concern, not so good. Online space 023 is listed as 65 ft long. Do not put a RV in this spot. On the ground they had spray painted 55 ft but more like 45 ft. The spot was at about a 7 degree slope, not level, and downward sloping toward the drivers side when backed in. The pavement was sloughing off on the drivers side with about an 8" drop.

Very busy, loud campground. The hosts were very very nice though. Lake is beautiful.

Totally enjoyed our stay at Poole Creek. The only negative is the RV pads are not well maintained so you have a very steep entry/exit to your RV. we enjoyed kayaking every day.

Great spot with great water access and a decent mtn. bike lap around the lake. I’ll be back.

I do like this campground but this site wasn’t my favorite because the open space in back left little privacy from the campsite on the other side.

The only unpleasant thing we encountered at this campground really were that there were frequently mice in the vault toilets. I saw them crawling down in the hole, crawling around by the ceiling and scurrying across the floor out the door. It’s the forest so critters happen but it’s pretty gross. I tried to get a lakefront site for weeks 6 months in advance but I did not succeed. It’s strange because several of the lakefront sites were available while I was there but I already had a reservation. It seems people reserve the max days 6 month in advance then later cancel the days they don’t need to ensure they get the actual dates they want leaving random dates available for FCFS. This was our second favorite campground this summer with #1 going to Diamond Lake Campground. We would return to this campground!
