What Guests Are Saying

Acorn Woman Peak Lookout offers breathtaking views and a peaceful atmosphere, making it a worthwhile destination for visitors. While the access road can be steep and may require caution, most vehicles can navigate it successfully. The lookout itself is clean and well-maintained, though it's basic and lacks certain amenities, so visitors should come prepared.

This place is breathtakingly beautiful and the views are hard to beat, I would definitely stay here again! I had no issues with the lock on the gate and it wasn't sticky like I thought I might be. After reading reviews, driving the road had me concerned but the road isn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. The road past the gate does get a little rough but it's definitely doable without 4x4 in my opinion, just watch out for those bigger rocks. There are a few sharp turns that I was able to navigate just fine in my 4runner, nothing to worry about as long as you're a decent driver. The lookout itself is in good shape and bathroom is fine for being rustic. Highly recommend staying here, it's absolutely amazing!

The view here is breathtaking!!! Like the description said I would definitely recommend a 4WD vehicle going up the access road. My sedan made it but it was very steep and rough. Everything was great though!

This was our first time at this lookout and we had a fantastic time. The road up is in good shape overall though the hairpin turns are definitely a consideration (our Outback did fine but a bigger vehicle might have problems). The lookout is in great condition, just a little sparse inside. No signs of mice so we slept on the floor with our sleeping bags & pads. The views are *stunning*. We had a phenomenal sunset and sunrise with the unexpected delight of a gorgeous full moon. Also, beautiful wildflowers in late May. No cookstove or heat source so plan to bring a camp stove and to bundle up! We brought our camp chairs and sat out on the deck much of the time. It was so peaceful and beautiful. Overall, a great experience.

Amazing place! The amazing views of the Siskiyou Mountains are so worth the drive. I would stay here over and over again. Hike the nearby Little Grayback Trail, hope on the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) on the Siskiyou Crest above, at Observation Peak, go swimming on Acorn Woman Lake below, or just take in the views and relax. Just make sure to drive a small to mid sized vehicle, preferably with all wheel or four wheel drive. A large vehicle will not make the sharp switchbacks on the road up. The road is in good shape, but the sharp switchbacks are impossible for larger vehicles. Have a great stay!
