Camped in site 15 & had a wonderful birthday weekend for my Mom. We brought our kayaks/PB’s and left them at our A loops beach area as did other campers and no one bothers them. We were gone to Crater Lake one full day to Cleetwood cove trail and did the boat tour on Wizard Island. Camp/belongings were left alone no problem. The next morning we paddled from camp over to the Lake of the Woods lodge restaurant for breakfast and vacay drinks. There was a car show which closed the boat ramp and made for an amazing calm morning on the water. The winds pick up giving choppy water as the day goes on but still fun to be on the water. Bathrooms (no showers) were kept clean. A loop bathroom didn’t have outside lighting so at night we only used the bathroom in B loop. These sites are very nicely spread out with plenty of space between. A really nice change from the newer campgrounds/RV parks that squeeze you in like sardines to maximize profits w/o actually caring about campers/customers. Both Camp host couples were wonderful. They addressed an issue I had of hearing a dog whining (and some barking) ALL night long in another tent near by. The next night no whining at all and I was able to sleep. Beautiful, serene lake and campground!!! Wish we brought bikes to ride to lake trail. Will return for sure!

Great Location and staff.
Downfall Guest reserve beach areas. We were told there's nothing anybody can or will do about it.
First come first serve beach area.
That's why I gave a lower raiting.

The campground host was really helpful from the time I arrived until time to go. The campground was well-cared for. The host drove around in her golfcart periodically during the day to check on things and answer questions. The lake couldn't be more stunning. Wish there were shower facilities for campers, but the restrooms were just a short walk from any campsite and were well-maintained. This remains my favorite Oregon campground.

Well kept and clean campground. Kudos to the head camp hosts and the two additional hosts in being polite and making sure they answer
any questions you have

My family has been camping at Lame of the Woods for 42 years now and continues to be our go to lake. Sunset Bay campground is a beautiful campground filled with tons of old growth trees and wild nature occurring throughout the park.

Great campsite(s). Well dispersed. A nice trail runs along the lake, and if you pass by the beaver dam it will take you to the lodge. There you can find a beach, ice cream, a boat dock, and a large campfire.
Close to Crater Lake National Park.

Overall a great time. But only one bathroom open on loop B with no TP. And both nights we were there campers partying with loud music until 1 or 2 am. Pretty hard to sleep through it. Surprised camp hosts don’t seem to care.

Great campsite! The campground hosts were very friendly, and the restrooms were heated, and very well maintained. Easy access to the lake, and for boating. The sites were large, and had a lot of shade.
