This place was nice and quiet with big shade trees. It only had one vault toilet for 21 sites and it became unusable by the end of the stay.

We took 9 Girl Scout families here to site D and it was perfect for us. Lots of yellow-jackets this year, though! Otherwise the big open space was ideal for a large communal kitchen and also a social campfire circle, with plenty of space around the perimeter for tents, and a great pull-in spot behind the bathroom where I could park a trailer still hitched to my car. Host was great, bathroom was fine given it's a vault. No wild animals found or sign observed except for birds and a squirrel, although we never formally went tracking. As far as we could tell, only grey jays visited our kitchen. Would absolutely recommend, although hiking and activities are not right there.

No water. No power. Bring your own tp and washing up supplies or santitizer. The toilets need to be neutralized WAY more often, but it's a very nice secluded quiet place to be in the forest and still see stars.

Great group site, plenty of room and only a quick trip to local lakes for swimming or fishing!

When booking a group site, we expected one large area to put our tents and gather as a family but instead found that we had about 5 normal camp sites all next to each other. It worked great for our family, but night not work as well for others so keep that in mind. We enjoyed our day at Ski Bowl riding the alpine slide and much more! Overall, it was a great weekend. The pit toilets might smell less earlier in the summer.. they were extra smelly for our trip in late August!

This is a beautiful place to capture fall colors. The campground essentially is empty after September so visiting at this time of the year is a wonderful private adventure. The maples interspersed with the pine trees, give a wonderful blush of color and the peaceful nature of the forest, calms the soul.

Not very happy. Website said there was a host and to get firewood from them. There was no host. Website said there was drinking water, but there was not. Maybe try posting correct information next time?

No host, no firewood for sale, no running water. The group sites also aren’t the most ideal for a large group of people that it’s supposed to fit. Lots of roots in the ground and hilly areas making it difficult to find a tent pad. It was nice and secluded though so our group made the best of it!

The camp description mentions there is water. There is not any potable water in the area. Other than that we enjoyed the spot.

From Sandy: Travel east on Highway 26 for 48 miles to the Highway 26/I-216 junctions. Turn left onto I-216 and travel east for 4 and 1/4 miles. Turn Right at Bear Springs campground.
Bear Springs Campground is accessible via Highway 26, which connects to I-216 approximately 4.25 miles from the campground.
