Site 27 is right near the bathrooms so we did not use it. Otherwise, excellent campground!!

Mostly private sites, good access to the dunes (John Dellenback trail) and small spots on the north side.
Close to a lot of beaches, places to rent vehicles to go out on the dunes, and water (lakes and rivers for paddleboarding and kayaking).
Camp host was great and mitigated some issues with questionable folks.
Site 27 is right near the bathrooms, we booked it but did not use it!

The bathroom ran out of toilet paper on at least one of the days we were there. Other than that, everything was fine.

The campsites at this campground are fantastic. Most of them give your tent a lot of privacy. Basic services, but in a truly gorgeous setting. Great to spend the night and head the next morning of a walk across the dunes to the beach.

The main thing that stands out about the campground is its location on the edge of an incredibly beautiful range of sand dunes. We camped there is mid-May, and had the vast dunes virtually to ourselves on a walk in the evening and again in the morning. There was free wood for a fire in the large pit, and rhododendrons graced the perimeter of the campsites. Just beautiful!

This is one of our favorite campgrounds with lovely, private spaces. Nearby, are hiking trails and sandy hills to climb.

Very quiet and relaxing. Each site is private with plenty of space. There are bathrooms. No hookups at the sites. $25 a night which is great when there is little to no boondocking in this area.

There is no reason for this site to be advance registration only during the off-season. There was no one there. I suspect the campground would get more use if it was not necessary to book 48 hours in advance. In addition, there is no possibility of extending a stay because by the time I knew I might like to stay another night, the deadline for reservations had passed.

This campground is located in close proximity to multiple lakes and wetlands. Due to this, there can be an abundance of mosquitoes between the months of April and August. Please be prepared for this. |
