Camp host is friendly, knows the area well and campsites are maintained as best as possible since COVID.
There is and has been an issue with has local thieves in the area. Try to lock up your things and be mindful of your surroundings. Campers do look-out for one another but there’s always that chance just like anything now and days of something being stolen.

Spinreel has been my favorite place to camp and ride for over 20 years. Unfortunately there are the disrespectful people that need to keep there ATV's off the grass. Also you need to make sure and lock up your gas cans, the thieves are now using bolt cutters to cut your cables and steal your cans, lost 2 full cans and a cable this weekend.

A lot of theft occurred while we were there from our group and other campers. Making a reservation was not user friendly at all and not being able to pay onsite for an extra night was an issue.

Has gone down a lot, current host is worthless, bathrooms received toilet paper, but never cleaned, dogs running around with no leashes, allowed to shit anywhere. People had no respect, park their quads on grass area. The nice thing is the new fire pits are huge. Get a host that cares, takes pride to make the place nice like it was.

We just spent 6 days at Spinreel. The campground was clean, the restrooms were clean. We love riding the dunes here. It's nice that all the campers/riders respect the quiet hours. The camp host was very helpful and friendly.

There was no camp host, someone was camped in my reserved spot so I picked another one, I spoke to a ranger and he said that should be fine, and then Hannah the collections lady left a note on my window telling me I had to pay again as the spot I was in was not reserved. I could not find her and so I left a note in the pay box explaining the situation and my reserved spot became open so I was left with two options stay where I was and risk some type of fine so I left a day early. The campsite was good and the sand was amazing and I had some apprehension while I was out riding and when I called the reservation people they said the only person that could change the reservation was the camp host and there was no one.
