The campground was overall good; the location is awesome!
Most of the sites have trees or other natural vegetation that make great privacy barriers. Unfortunately, you might need to bring a chainsaw or a weed eater as they hang over into the parking spots.
Theft in this area is a huge problem. We had gas cans and coolers stolen from our camps overnight. Keep everything locked up or put away in an enclosed trailer. Don't leave any thing of value in your OHV's even if they have covers. Thieves will cut the covers open to look inside.

This campground is always kept clean, camp hosts are always wonderful! Great family atmosphere and very close to ODNRA. This is my families favorite places to camp at the coast.

Super clean facilities and camp ground. Easy dune access plus a close rental place. Only down fall is lock up your gas cans we had one stolen and a few other people did as well. Over all great camp ground and good area!

I just wanted to comment on the park host at our recent visit. Her name is Karen, but goes by Kat. This was our first visit that a camp host checked us in, asked if she could help with anything. I expressed concern about unleased dogs, she was very understanding and asked that if I see any, to just let her know and she would deal with it. She was so visible in the park... always there, always friendly, always ready! She was a delight! In our past visits, the hosts have been basically invisible ...
We hope that the forest service will continue to keep Kat there, as long as she is willing! Best camp host we have experienced at any camp! We have seen hosts in their PJ's, sloppy dress... Kat was always in "uniform", tidy and smiling!!!

I have been coming to Spinreel since I was a kid. It has never been so messy. There was trash everywhere sand built up everywhere bikes parked on the grass because the hosts were virtually nonexistent. We only saw them once in the last ten days we were there. The bathrooms were atrocious. This place has definitely gone to pot! Soo sad! It would be really nice if you would update the campground at least add power. The last time the park was updated was in the 90’s. Please do something we love Spinreel!!!

First time in 22 years that I could not give a 5 star rating. Campsites were overgrown with the grass, bushes and vegetation. Camphost did not enforce quiet hours after 10 pm with generators or vehicles. Loud music seemed to be permitted, as well. Our young adults went out for several night rides and if they came back after 10 pm, they pushed their quads in so as to not disturb other campers. We will be back next year, hope this year's camphost will learn to keep the park rules enforced that have made Spinreel a joy to come back to, year after year.
