The picnic table was needing major repair and unusable. The site was clean , weather, sand on the dunes and Pacific Ocean, we’re great , I really like this park. Just replace the picnic table, so we can use it . Site 36 .

Spaces are small and there are a lot of people. Everyone was very respectful and pleasant. The sheriff actively patrols the campground. Clean bathrooms, clean campground. I would definitely go back.

We were tent camping and arrived after dark and set up our tent. In the morning, we woke up and it felt like a parking lot with so many vehicles around us. But I was glad to get a spot, even though it costs an additional $8 to book online.

The dunes itself were amazing; however, the campground was not what we expected. The pictures on the website were very deceiving. We got lot 28 and when we saw pictures of it, it looked very big and spacious. We were very shocked to see how small the site was. It could barely fit 2 tents. So our whole setup was less than ideal as everything was setup so closely that even the firepit was only less than a foot away from one of our tents. I personally think site 28 shouldn't even be considered one site if you are allowing 2 cars. The area of sites 28-30 should only be split into 2 sites. Now we definitely know which site to avoid. It was ridiculously small and not what the pictures made it out to be. Also, no maps were available anywhere. We were there for a few days and it was never restocked at all. For a place this huge and for first-timers like us, maps would have been very helpful as you could easily get lost.

Had a great camp spot. Others in the camp ground looked like they too were having a good time. For those that aren’t into sand riding and have fun with other riders of the same recreation this is not for you. If your looking for quite relaxing experience this is for you. There’s plenty of other camping areas near by.
My wife and I had a great time. And we’ll be back. Thanks gene
