River access is quite treacherous in spots due to what appears to be high-water erosion damage from some years ago. Possibly due to the high water as well, there is quite a bit of garbage in the trees between the campsites and the river. Also, our first day there they had no firewood. We had to go into Roseburg to find firewood for sale.

I used to come here all the time when I was a kid. Hadn’t been in 10 years, and it’s still as wonderful as I remember. Spacious camp sites and right on the river, what more could you ask for? :)

We stayed in site 2, have a 30’ trailer, the cement pad is bumpy and it was difficult to level the trailer. There is an over powering smell of feces next too bathrooms (pit toilets), and we could also smell it along the road by our site. Rats are everywhere at night. The stairs are dangerous to walk down to the river. River is full of algae on the banks, so if you want to swim you have to swim out where the current is strong. Camp hosts never came by. I gave it three stars because it is a quiet campground, sites are not too close to each other and other sites looked level compared to site 002.

Very spacious camp sites, nice little trails and stairs down to the river. A great place to camp and play in the water when the weather is hot!

This was our first trip to Tyee Umpqua. We were very impressed by the size of the campsites, cleanliness, and overall beauty. Very peaceful and relaxing. We took a short drive into Elkton one day to do some wine tasting as well, I recommend making the short drive. Definitely on my list to book again.
