My Girlfriend, and I chose this campground off the map. We wanted a location near the Sutherlin, Oregon area and a some 'primitive' camping. Not knowing the reservation system, and no cell phone service we showed up unannounced to a 'reservation only' campground.
No worries, a very nice gentleman, named Earl, the host, quickly got us squared away and we called and booked a campsite. Pulled in to my gals hand picked spot near the Umpqua River and had a great camp up and Zen experience. All the campers and locals are very chill.
% thumbs up. Morock

Tyee is our very favorite campground. Only place we really go camping. Nice and quiet and the camp host, Earl Johnson, is amazing! He always makes us feel so welcome!

The camp ground was well taken care of. It was tidy and well maintained. The camp host was friendly and informative about the area. I will be going back for more,

A nice campground overall, probably best for a short (1-2 night) stay given proximity to highway and other not-so-nature-like settings. Only south loop is open during the offseason it seems; sites 1-3 border the road, site 4 is sort of in between the road and the river, and sites 5-10 are closer to the river. As a note, the vegetation is not super dense, so I would avoid sites 2-3 (very visible from the road) and site 4 (butts right up against a private property with full visibility) unless you are in an RV. There is not much privacy between sites either. Note that the sound of cars is generally stronger than the sound of the river, which takes away from the "in nature" feeling (hence why I would keep this a short stay unless you are in an RV). Site facilities are standard; nice pavilion area near the north loop. Cell service dropped off for me about 4 miles out from the turnoff for the site.

Great, quiet (no mid-week parties), and clean campground. Hosts were professional and kept the place clean. The river is beautiful and there are lovely wildflowers. A little noise from the highway across the river at times, the stairs to the river were twisted by past floods, and site 4 has zero privacy from the private property/"compound" next door. Overall, a pleasant place and worth visiting.

The bathrooms were very well kept and fresh smelling! Our camp spot was nicely labeled. The area looked clean and well kept.
The campsite was near the river, which sounded very peaceful. There was a beautiful walkway along the river, which was a bit aged, but still nice to walk. We also enjoyed a short game of horseshoes! All in all, it was a nice experience.

Nice camping experience! Their was a little bit of road noise from the highway across the river not terrible. Simple to find and easy back in parking with travel trailer. Semi secluded camping spot with nice river views. No hook ups but lots of fresh water faucets near driveway. No cell service. Camp host was friendly and kept a watchful eye and the restrooms super clean.

The campground is clean and well maintained. The host is by far the best camp host I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. WILL definitely make return visits!
