Roaring River County Park is a charming, small park featuring short walking trails, picnic areas, and scenic spots by the river, making it ideal for relaxing and picnicking. The park offers unique activities like ax throwing and has clean vault bathrooms, though some visitors prefer more traditional facilities. Its proximity to Albany, alongside the picturesque Larwood covered bridge, adds to its appeal as a peaceful getaway.

I love this park. I don’t want to tell you about it because I like it not busy. I don’t like the bathrooms. Only vault bathrooms. They are pretty clean and not too smelly for both bathrooms. But I’m kind of picky and I like a place to wash my hands. I discovered the ax throwing at target today so that was interesting. This park is what I would say is small. There are short trails I wouldn’t call them hiking more of walking trails. There are some nice places to stand by the river. There is a camp host and then although I’ve been here many times I’ve never actually seen them. I like to make a car videos here for some of my other channels. I like to do that because this place is not busy and I can drive the cars through the park, of course at slow speeds and then later speed them up in the videos. And this park works great for taking pictures of the cars. It makes them look like they’re out in the country road when they’re just in a park. I like how this part has some undercover facilities so if it’s raining, you could still find some cover here. I like how this park is just about 20 minutes out of Albany. And the fact that you have to go through Larwood covered bridge to get to it just makes a nice little get out of town but not too far. It only takes 20 minutes to get out here from Albany.

Small little park with a couple of picnic tables and plenty of spots to lay a blanket down and just relax with the water flowing just feet from you. Plenty of spots to dip your toes in as well. Recommend for a cute picnic or just to get away and enjoy some peace and quiet.

Roaring River County Park is one of the nicest county parks I have visited.
There are three different picnic pavilions. They are separated from each other with their own parking lot. The pavilions have sinks and fire pits.
The creek passes about a mile in the edge of the southern edge of the park. There is a nice trail along the length of the creek with plenty of picnic tables for meals.
I saw 4 vultures, 3 wild turkeys, and the snake (in the video).

Visited for the Native American encampment July 2024. Beautiful trails, easy walkable trails and babbling river. Great spot for kids to explore!
Large open fields and wonderful park hosts!

Pretty great water. Feels very smooth and natural. However in the parts that are deep enough to really swim, the water gets kind of mucky and gross unfortunately. Not in a wimpy way but in a "full of water life and sticks" way. Didn't stop me from floating though! There's a lot of different spots here. The dogs loved it, as well as meeting the rangers dog, who is nice! The ranger was busy-busy though! Parking is wonderful as well. I've found that it's a bit too far out to get packed with people, unless there's an event!
Edit to 5 stars, I've been going for a long time and it's just one of the best parks Oregon has to offer the locals. It's very well kept and not too easy to find :) absolutely love it
