We love Lower Bridge Campground. We stayed in campsite #1 this time. Not much room for your vehicle. But, magnificent view of the Metolius River! We're eager to return. This was probably our 10th visit to Lower Bridge Campground over the years. Outstanding!

This place is beautiful and restful. We had a wonderful time. You can hike upriver to the hatchery or downriver to Candle Creek Campground. This place is mostly for fisherman. It is quite a ways to the Camp Sherman store area.

Overall, the campground is well maintained and the camp sites are very nice. It is right on the Metolius river so getting into the river to go fishing is very easy with multiple great fishing access points. Fortunately, all the campers were very quiet during our time there, so made for a pleasant stay.
The privy on the other hand, was absolutely disgusting (at least the men's side). Someone had had an issue in there and so there was nasty, used toilet paper strewn about on the floor causing the place to smell worse than a normal privy. There was a separate port-a-potie sitting across from the permanently installed privies that was overflowing and also had nasty looking toilet paper all over on the floor. Not sure how often the FS gets into this camp to clean the toilets, but never saw one during the three days we were there. We just avoided these all together during our stay.

Completely beautiful spot! Very quiet and tranquil. This is the exact spot for peace. The sites are large and the river is close.

Camp spots were spacious and well maintained. We believe we had the best two camp spots in the area we shared with friends and were right on the river.
We have a 21-foot trailer and had to drive the opposite direction in the loop to be able to park our trailer into our space because of the angle getting into/out of the space and the trees next to the entry.
The wooden picnic table/benches were very weathered and rough. Our table and bench covers were very helpful.
We kayaked and hung out at Suttle Lake one very hot day and hiked Canyon Creek Meadows early another hot day with great views, lots of wildflowers and still spots of snow.

As usual, the Lower Bridge campground was clean and well-maintained. I enjoyed going to see beautiful Wizard Falls since I was nearby. There were no offenders of quiet hours. I always love Lower Bridge campground!

The park personnel are fabulous! So friendly and helpful and the campsite is always lovely. The hikes that you can access from the Lower Bridge campsite are special, too, because they run along both sides of the Metolius River. I love this campground, and shall return!

Lower Bridge is our favorite campground. Located on the Metolius River, the campsites are beautiful, peaceful, and spacious. There are walking trails on both sides of the river.
The only downside this summer was the presence of very active Yellow Jackets. It was very difficult to prepare food and eat outside without being swarmed.
