Lower Bridge Campground was a beautiful place to stay on the Metoleus River! The camp site was well maintained and the facilities were very good!! I would recommend this site for any one who wants to get away!

We like not having to worry finding a site via reservation.
What really is unfair and unsettling is the total lack of enforcement to keeping unoccupied non reservable campsites open. The rules state that campsites must be occupied, but we always find unoccupied campsites filled with chairs, coolers and tents. The residents of central Oregon are free to hoard all the transient sites long before the weekend with no bodies present. Campers like us who drive a long ways are punished for not living closer!
To put it bluntly, This really sucks! Not just central oregon!
We have even read notes left to people like us to not take a particular site.

I only recently started camping as an adult, and so far, this was my *favorite* campground. The water, the views, the campsite.
Wow. It was magic to me.
So. Damn. Beautiful.
(Just wish the potable water had been working, but it didn't change the quality of the stay.)

Gorgeous location on the Metolius; small campground with friendly neighbors. Be aware that water is NOT available at this time due to a broken pipe!

Love lower bridge campsites along the River. Deep and shaded but with a river view. We had nice neighbors. It was nice to sit down by the river in the autumn sunshine. Very little traffic and three different 2 mile hikes from lower bridge.

Nice quiet campground right on the river. Great trails close by and good fishing holes.
