Went in mid February and the weather was great for that time of the year. Was pleasantly surprised to find sand dollars intact. The campground was clean and the staff were kind and helpful.

Cape Lookout State Park offers a wonderful camping experience with clean facilities, kind staff, and easy beach access. The campground features small but well-kept campsites, beautiful beaches, and scenic hiking trails. While the bathrooms could use some improvement, the overall ambiance and amenities make it a highly recommended spot for a getaway.

Campsites are VERY close to the beach with easy walking access. Facilities are clean and well kept. The hiking trails go through the camp so hiking is an easy option too. The only down side is that the campsites are fairly small.

Great campground with beautiful beaches. We rented a yurt for the weekend which was really great especially during the stormy nights. The campground host was really helpful and kind. It's a wonderful spot for a weekend getaway.

If you're looking for a private campsite this park has many more than I've ever seen!
The beach is a short walk and its beautiful! I've stayed here about five times and highly recommend it!
The only reason I gave it four, instead of five stars is due to the bathroom. Again, not the worst I've seen by any means but four stars it is, and it wouldn't stop me from returning.
A great campground!

Truly a treasure, whether you are visiting for the day or to camp. Plenty of paid parking upon arrival. There were park workers cleaning up the landscaping while we were there, as well as some volunteers. Almost completely direct access from the parking lot to the beach. There are many access points, restrooms onsite, and trails to walk. The beach itself is pretty spacious and so while there may be a lot of people, they aren't too close together. Many folks were using the bbq's to grill with charcoal and so it smelled additionally fantastic.
