Whisky Camp Guard Station offers a peaceful, rustic retreat that's ideal for disconnecting and creating family memories. Many guests appreciate its great cabin amenities, including a propane stove and heater, though some mention the need for improved mattress comfort and maintenance of hiking trails. While the property could benefit from some TLC, it remains a cherished spot for annual visits and relaxation in a remote setting.

The location was awesome. It was very quiet. The reason I left a two star review is because of there were several mouse traps in the kitchen and we encountered a mouse inside the guard station. It needs a deep cleaning.

Clean when we arrived. Some confusion as to how to operate the propane but we eventually figured it out. Everything works and is as advertised. The place could use a coat of paint and it would be nice if someone were to donate a couch to the cabin. Bring comfy camp chairs if you plan to spent much time inside the cabin. You don't need to bring your own toilet paper - plenty in the new pit toilet that even has concrete floor. Kitchen table is small and only suited for two people. Folks have left behind some puzzles, a few kitchen knives, some bowls, a bad mitten net, a chessboard, and a few pots. Loved the peace and quiet! There is a small stream nearby to get water from - not sure if it would be running in summer though...

Be ready to secure your food from mouses. The old mattresses are pretty beat up. The lights, stove/oven, heater and fridge all worked for us. We filtered water during the winter from the nearby creek.
