Absolutely incredible lake! Tons of space, camping, beautiful scenery! Definitely recommend booking campsites early in the year, though there are some first come first serve. PGE Parks does a wonderful job of managing, maintaining, and helping!! The people are super kind and always willing to help! There are watercrafts available for rent, also!

We spent the day out at Timothy Lake, and even though it was a little windy, it turned out to be a really good time. The lake is surrounded by beautiful forest and mountain views, which makes it a peaceful spot to relax and enjoy nature. The water was clear, and even with the breeze, it was calm enough to enjoy the shoreline and take in the scenery. Pine Point offered some wonderful spots to take in the view, and the Timothy Lake Days Picnic Area was a great place to sit down, eat, and enjoy the day together. There are plenty of areas for walking, exploring, or just soaking in the quiet atmosphere. It’s a place that feels removed from the busyness of everyday life, and that’s what makes it so enjoyable. Overall, a wonderful place to spend a day outdoors.

Really pretty lake. The campground side was very busy when I went in mid July, but when you drive over the damn, there are more camp sites that you have to hike to, a short hike, and barely anyone at all there.
The water is so clear. I haven’t caught any trout there yet, but I’ve seen others catch them, and I’ve seen them jump right out of the water. I understand there to be 3 spots on the lake where thousands of rainbow trout are stocked regularly.
The lake is plenty big enough for any kind of water sports you might have in mind, with gentle mountain top back drop around the entire circumference.
In the summer, don’t forget your sunscreen!!!! It’s been sunny all summer out there and I got fried to a crisp the last time in every place I wasn’t thorough with the sunscreen.
So many ducks, ducklings, geese, and other wild birds in the area. Took all my will power not to grab one of the ducklings by their cute little cheeks and stuff his adorable face into my backpack 🫣🐥

Timothy Lake is an absolutely fantastic destination, especially if you're looking for a superb day-use experience. It truly shines as a prime spot for water activities and soaking in stunning natural beauty. I recommend coming here early as it may get crowded in here because there's not a lot of parking.

If you have a paddleboard, this is your go-to lake! The calm, clear waters make it an incredible place to paddle with family, children, and friends. We loved gliding across the surface, enjoying the tranquility and the pristine surroundings.

Beyond the water, Timothy Lake also offers great opportunities for hiking, with trails that immerse you in the lush forest. And, of course, the panoramic Mount Hood views are simply breathtaking. Seeing that majestic peak reflected in the lake is an unforgettable sight and makes every moment spent here truly worthwhile.

Whether you're paddling, hiking, or just relaxing by the shore, Timothy Lake provides a perfect escape and a memorable day in nature. Highly recommended!

This is a beautiful lake and a great place to hike! You will need an Annual Northwest Forest Pass to or it’s $10 for day use (at least where we parked). The hike around the lake is 13 miles and it’s fairly easy as there’s not a lot of elevation gain. It took me around 4.5 hours to do the whole loop (including stops) and it was fun! I’d love to come back with maybe a paddle board or a kayak so I could enjoy the lake a little more.
