When I arrived I could back my trailer into my spot but the roadway was so narrow when the front of my truck came around to straighten out I kept hitting trees and scrubs. I went to the camp host and they could only put me into a dry camp site that was on quite an upward slant. I lost my original monies plus having to pay for the dry camp site (which I realize was my choice). After one night I left in that afternoon and forfeited my other 2 days of reservation deposit. My 2 friends decided not to come to the coast and I could have used one of their spots (they hadn't officially canceled) but this new system of reservations was NOT going to let that happen. Needless to say this was NOT one of my better experiences.

Site 53, which we had booked, is not in any way suitable for tent camping. Nor are a number of the neighboring sites. There is simply no room to pitch even a small tent on these sites. A number of the oceanfront sites were essentially swamps, so also unsuitable for tent camping. In short, if you are going to stay in a tent at Tillicum Beach campground, be very careful which site you choose. Also, the oceanfront sites can get very windy, so make sure your accommodation is sturdy.
We ended up abandoning our reserved site, and stayed instead at site 57. This site had reasonable locations for our small three-person hiking tent, but I wouldn't have wanted to be finding space for a full-size family tent.

The Campground host was excellent. He answered my questions politely and gave me all the information I needed. I would have given my trip 5 stars except I did not like the site but that was not due to a problem with it, just my preference.

Park employees were good, but we were unaware of the park ownership rules and ended up paying for both our reserved sites and first come first serve camp sites. The Pull Thru sites we had reserved were narrow and not very level, I understand why this was, but it would have been nice to see that reflected in the site description. Site numbers were faded and needed new paint, Struggled a bit leaving the Park, a few more directional road signs would have been nice. The Park itself is beautiful and we enjoyed the beach and the Ocean Views.
Will look foreword to another visit, now that we understand the lay of the Park better.
