Beautiful sunset from the summit. Larches were turning in mid October when we were there. Road was nicely graded. Mountain bike is probably the way to explore the area. I did not see many hikes around the area. Plenty of open area to have great star gazing at night.

One of the most beautiful places, the views are extraordinary. Access is good , the bunkhouse is rustic but adequate. Altogether a great place to stay, am planning a return next year

Remote, quiet cabin at the "Summit". Great sunset views! Nicely set up for cooking. Bring lots of water for drinking, cooking, and washing dishes!!!

A wonderful camping experience, especially if you value seclusion and quiet! The view to the southwest is spectacular, particularly at sunset. The guard station cabin provides plenty of comfortable shelter for cooking, eating and sleeping while the station grounds still affording ample out of doors experiences. We definitely will return!

We loved our stay at the Summit Guard Station. The cabin was clean and the beds were comfortable. The beautiful location on the ridge can’t be beat.

Booked hoping to see the Orionids meteor shower, but got snow and fog instead. It was still wonderful! Thanks for keeping this place clean and peaceful.
