The camp host was inexplicably hostile to us on our arrival. Stopped to look at the kiosk to see if we could get a copy of the map showing the campground and trails, and he came hurrying over and was demanding to know what we wanted and was very rude. It was bizarre.
At the campsite, we had to use leveling blocks under the rear tires and the way it was set up, our neighbors had a tent directly behind our small motor home. Just uncomfortably close.
The good news is that the trail to the visitor center was excellent as was the trail down to the beach, so thanks for that.
Maybe it is time to figure out how to get cell coverage over forest service campgrounds? Odd that coverage was available on the beach but not at the camp site.

Campsite 21 is a decent campsite. The pad is on a bit of a slope. Wonderful creek sound all night. The camp host was very friendly and helpful. He offered a lot of suggestions for local area hikes.

Beautiful campground with no highway noise despite being so close. Access to hiking trails, visitor center, and beach were all fantastic. However, the sites all vary widely in quality. Site #4 was on very uneven ground, and had no privacy at all.

nice camp ground with nice trails near by that take you to the ocean or in the nearby woods. Definitely would stay there again.

Stayed in site 26 and would definitely stay in the campground again. 26 was tight for our 10x10 tent and shares the area with site 25. Privacy was lacking but location made up for it, the sound of the creek was wonderful! Hikes can be started from the campground including easy access to the ocean.
Bathrooms were clean and maintained and the camp host was friendly and helpful.

We personally LOVED staying here and I am only giving it 4 stars because some of the sites were pretty rough in terms of being right up against the road with no shade or privacy - and the very bright lights on the outside of the bathrooms were on all night which was distracting - otherwise, absolutely gorgeous! Don't miss the .5 or so mile walk to the Giant Spruce just past the campground, and highly suggest walking or driving to the Cape Perpetua Visitor Center - great exhibit about the local features and then you can walk right to Thor's Well and Spouting Horn. Hopefully next time we'll also go to the top of the mountain. I've never stayed in a campground with so many hikes right from the tent, really a magical spot!

Camp host was helpful and relaxed. We were near the group site, which looks like an idyllic meadow with space for at least a dozen tents, running water, and an electical outlet. Word to the wise, #37 is an island unto itself at the end of the line inside the turn around loop- it was fantastic! Would 100% return.
