Outflow Camping

Campsite was clean. Water access was very easy. Quiet and relaxing. One of my favs.

Like how the bike trail connects to the campground and the fishing is right there close too , also the camp ground is kept up very nice and the camp ground host is a very nice guy and very helpful , I would highly recommend this camp ground .

Excellent location right at dam release for middle yough river and bike path, half mile from confluence downtown and straight 8 miles by path to Ohiopyle restaurants.

Have camped in this campground during May - early October months many for many years, many times per year. The campground is adjacent to the Great Allegheny Passage bike trail.

There are two problems that arise during some visits. During summer months, on most evenings there is little to no breeze in the campground. Air quality can be very poor owing to campfire smoke. Unfortunately, some people burn trash in their campfires, which worsens the air quality problem considerably. The campground needs signage, perhaps on the bath house doors, that requests that campers refrain from burning trash in campfires.

The second problem is that some RV campers rent tent sites in the no generators loop, and then proceed to run their generators. This problem arises mainly on weekends, when the campground is most occupied.

I am a tent camper and this campsite seems a little more geared to RV's, motorhomes. That said, the accommodations work very well for tent campers. The camp site is spotless and spacious. I did find driving tent stakes into the packed gravel to be difficult but not impossible.
It would be helpful to have two utility/lamp poles instead of one so campers can hang clothes and gear on a drying line without attaching to a tree, which is frowned upon. This area has rivers widely used for paddling and rafting so there's lots of wet gear at the end of the day.

Lovely open group site with water, power, gravel area for picnic tables, post for tarp ties, parking, and clean bathroom and showers.

We have camped here each of the last 4 or 5 years and always enjoy our stay. The grounds have always been well maintained, and the host does a great job cleaning and preparing each site for the new arrivals. The location to the bike trails is a huge plus and there are several nice restaurants and brewery in the town. There is also a great bike shop in town with sales, rentals and service. There is a Dollar General less than a mile from the campground to pick up grocery items.
