What Guests Are Saying
Erie KOA Kampgrounds is well-maintained, with clean facilities, a great camp store, and a pleasant atmosphere for families, particularly ideal for young children. Many guests appreciated the spacious sites and friendly staff, although some reported negative interactions with the current owners, citing rudeness and inconsiderate behavior. Overall, while the campground is praised for its cleanliness and amenities, concerns about management have led to mixed feelings among visitors.

My family and I were frequent campers at this site for the better part of 25 years. The current owners are rude and inconsiderate. The lady owner lurks around the grounds at night and no matter how empty the place is (mid-October), if you are slightly loud, you are brow-beaten over it. My wife and I were sitting around the campfire, having a good time reminiscing and I guess I got too loud. She came out of the dark bushes and reamed us out! This wasn't the first experience I had like that, but it will be the very last, unless I see a banner "Under New Management".

I’ll keep it simple…
The campground is close to Lake Erie and downtown Erie.
The grounds were kept up fantastic.
The campground property is pretty level. It doesn’t take much to level out your camper and great for young kids riding bicycles.
The pool was closed but it was October.
The camp store was great with ice cream, snacks, stickers, camping items, fishing stuff, and cash/ credit card was accepted.
The bathrooms were large and clean.
No outside firewood was allowed but the camp store delivered firewood to your site and had plenty in stock.
When we left on Sunday early morning it was nice that all of the campers and tow vehicles are only permitted to park on their gravel spots. It made it easier to maneuver out of the campground and I didn’t have to worry about maneuvering around anything with our big camper.

We have stayed in many KOAs across the country. This is one of the nicest we’ve seen. It was late in the season so a few of the amenities were closed. Nice hosts who greeted us while we walked our dog around. The pool and pond area are very nice. The entire campground is clean and well cared for. Compared to many places there is very little mud to contend with.

This was our first KOA experience with our new travel trailer, an Ember Touring 20FB. We had our 3 dogs with us. This was truly a great experience for all of us. While we prefer not to have campers right on top of us, camping in the fall was perfect in that we had space between sites. We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back and stay at the sites on the backside of the pond. Just overall a very nice and clean campground with very friendly staff.

Worst experience I ever had. Things started off good but quickly went down hill. As we were leaving my father came to help us pack our things to leave and helped us walk our dogs while we were packing. He looked at the campground real quick while my girlfriend was finishing up packing as my family has a group of about 7 separate campers that would have been interested in booking next year. Then the owner came down screaming at my girlfriend about his vehicle being parked in wrong spot. (He could have asked politely and he definetly would have moved). Then he flew all the way over to other side of campground and yelled saying he could kick us all out. Mind you he wasn’t even there a half hour and we were almost ready to leave after the dogs were done. All this because they needed there $9.50 charge. Well that minor charge cost them thousands of dollars in business next year due to a poor attitude. I’ve been to many koas and never had an experience like this. Would never recommend to anyone.
