This a a beautifully serene spot. We enjoyed spending almost two weeks there. Only drawback was having to move every few days to a new site as the reservation policy doesn’t guarantee you a site, it is site specific. This is one place that each and every site is perfect.

We try to get to Buck Hall once a year. 250 miles from home but worth the trip. Love riding our dual sport motorcycles on the forest roads in the Francis Marion Nat Forest.

Buck Hall is located right along the Intercoastal Waterway with only about 17 sites as I recall. There is good spacing between sites and it’s located far enough from Hwy. 17 so as to be very quiet. We did not use the campground bathroom so don’t have an opinion. Unfortunately, it was very hot while we were there so didn’t get out too much due to the heat and bugs (mosquitoes and no-see-ums). The campground is heavily used by fishermen and locals.

Wish they had sewer hookups. Bugs can be very bad. They need to take care of all the fire ants. You have to be really careful where you & your pet step.

The parking lot at the boat ramp still has the same potholes in it it's had for at least 4 years now. The light above the bath house entrance still cycles on and off. It has done that for at least 2 years. It's a HPS fixture and simply needs a new bulb. Thankfully the grass was cut when I got there it's usually not that's why I always bring a weed eater when I check in for a 2 week stay. The water still leaked at the dump station and it's leaked for years. What a shame that much water has leaked from the spigot all this time.
