I am one of the campers that spends a lot of time staying at different Corps campgrounds throughout a large part of the summer. So, a routine user I guess you can say. Here is my assessment of Coneross....still a beautiful campground! The guys and gals that clean the bathhouses overall do an excellent job. It still seems like one crew does a better job than the other, or maybe they just do a better job one day than the next. But overall they do a really good job. COVID drove many first time campers to the campgrounds and a lot of them have none of the normal camper etiquette of leaving a place better than they found it. Some complaints that I would have from SOME other campers are their dogs. It amazes me still at the lack of care that dog owners show for other campers. ie, leaving their dogs in the camper or outside on a leash to bark while they go to town to shop or whatever. Or just allowing their dogs to bark and disturb a whole loop or more while they sit at their campsite. Another negative that I understand the Corps cannot control are the random boaters that show up at your campsites and tie up right in front of you to have a beach party because they don't have a place to do so at their lake front home. I wish there was a way we could ask them to leave.
OK, for kids this campground is great. Safe environment, ability to ride bikes, use one of numerous playgrounds or of course the beaches and lake as a whole. I can't tell anyone that much of the area away from the campground/lake because I elect to stay in the campground as much as possible. If you have a boat, get out and explore the lake. Plenty of secluded beaches and coves to swim and relax at are available. By boat you can go up to and use the free docks to eat at the Clemson Grill, open weekends (next to the Clemson Marina). Or any day of the week you can access the docks up past the football stadium and walk to several restaurants. Lots to do on the water and most campers are super friendly.

We like the paved roads. We wish the sites were paved. The site was wide and long making enough parking. The site was clean. The electric and water were strong. We liked the shade from the trees. The only thing to make it better would be full hookup which includes sewer.

Great park, nice campsites. Bathrooms were filthy though. Worms on the floor. Dirty floors.

We were on Site 103 which is our very favorite. We have camped at Coneross several times and love the beauty and peacefulness of the campground. We could launch our kayak right from the site! I also loved seeing the deer in the park...just as added extra! And the trees are spaced perfectly for a hammock nap! If you are looking for a great getaway..this is the place!
