Coneross Park

We always love Coneross campground. Nice sites and the gate staff are always friendly and helpful.

Roads to the RV camping area were a bit narrow and turns were a bit tight for our 38' motorhome but certainly were navigatable. Lots had better privacy than the commercial sites. Beautiful lake and surroundings. We would definitely come back to this campground.

The landscape on the waterfront site have been extremely neglected. The pictures shown are what the camp sites looked like many years ago but unfortunately they have not been maintained very well and the park rangers stated it would never look great again due to budget cuts. The park has 3 dump locations but the gatekeepers keep one closed at All times. The restrooms need to be maintained much better. The restroom for sites 1-36 is horrible and needs to be updated.

This campsite was kept emmaculetly and the staff was exceptional. Such a beautiful hidden gem! We are so glad we found it.

Our family of 5 enjoyed a nice stay at Coneross Campground (July 2022). We had one of the many beautiful lakefront sites in the 30s with water and electric and close to a swimming beach. We had to check in after hours, but no big deal, they even called to make sure we were still coming and left info for us. This was only our second time at a COE campground and we hope to hit more in the future - the hosts/staff were very friendly/helpful, the park was well kept, the campers seemed like a very family friendly crowd. There are other highly rated COE campgrounds nearby like Oconee, but Coneross might be an overlooked hidden gem. The lake was not overcrowded for swimming or boating, and the water was very warm in July. There isn't a camp store, so no ice/firewood on site, and not much going on nearby - a few miles to the nearest store (Dollar General or Food Lion) though firewood is available outside the gate. Speaking of gates (and this is my only issue) they do lock the gates 10pm-7pm. This wasn't an issue for us during the stay but we felt it could be bad in an emergency or an unexpected late check in. We had a delayed arrival, and made it by 8:45, but if we had been further delayed it would have been a real problem. No one likes people checking in after dark but sometimes there are unforeseen circumstances. They do post emergency contact info, and I assume the on-site host can open the gate, but I don't know if they're always there. I wish COE parks would implement a rolling keycode gate system, as I have seen many state parks do. Overall though a great time, a beautiful park, and we hope to be back.

Clean and well kept. Great walking for exercise. Will be back in augusr.

The grass was a lil high and uncomfortable but the trip as a whole was nice and the camp employees and volunteers were awesome!!

Perfect week

Nice campground with spacious sites. Bathhouses worked well. The campground map is lacking in detail. We booked a site we thought was waterfront and it was not. A move to an open waterfront was available, but you have to do that online. The front gate staff was able to move us after about 30 min's of confusing discussion. They were not very computer literate or able to multiplex. It did work out and our stay was great in a east facing site. The west side looked hot, but had better swimming from shore. Downtown Clemson is close and the Botanical gardens were nice. We stayed there in a 21 ft travel trailer
