About Coneross Park

Coneross Campground is a moderately sloping, heavily wooded 136 acre site of mixed hardwoods and pines. The site presently offers camping and boat launching facilities to include: 1 gatehouse/entrance, 2 park attendant campsites, 106 public use campsites (94 with full water and electric hookups and 12 primitive sites with impact pad only), 4 comfort stations with showers, 2 dump stations, 1 boat ramp, 1 courtesy dock, 4 playgrounds, 2 designated swim areas/beaches, and associated paved roads and parking areas throughout.

Beautiful lake front site! Clean, very quiet and relaxing with big spacious campsite. We caught 2 fish right in front our campsite! We really enjoyed our stay and will be coming back again!

Loved our campsite and the direct access we had to put our kayaks into the lake but not very happy with bathroom facilities (we camp in a popup so we use bathrooms). No matter which women's bathroom we tried there was very little hot water for showers, no soap dispenser at sinks and one bathroom did not even have a hand dryer. Will think twice about re-booking here because of the cold showers :(

This is a nice site but it is difficult to bring a 35 ft travel trailer onto the site - we had to drive through the site next to us to get into our site, luckily there was nobody in that site at the time. The picnic table is positioned so that it's hard to maneuver a full sized pickup truck with the travel trailer attached and get the trailer into place. To get out of the spot we had to back out onto the road which worked fine. There is no bath house close to this site as well which may be a difficulty for some.

The campground was easy to find, well maintained and had beautiful views of the lake. Campsites in the primitive area were fairly secluded and relatively quiet. Our site did not have electric or water but water spigots were available in the primitive loop if needed. There was a table with seating, a fire pit, and a lantern pole at our site. The dumpsters near the exit were easy to use and not overflowing. The place was dog friendly and relatively inexpensive. The people at the gate were friendly and helpful. Will definitely go again.

General

  • One wheeled camping unit (RV, Camper, Camper van/truck, etc) per single site and must be parked on impact pad. Tents are restricted to impact pad.
  • Off-road vehicles including golf carts, 4-wheelers, motorized or electric scooters/ride on devices are not permitted.
  • Only registered vehicles are allowed in the campground. Up to 3 vehicles may be registered per site. All vehicles and boats trailers must be parked on gravel area of campsite or in designated parking spaces.
  • Alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
  • Maximum stay is 14-days within 30 day period. Changing names on a reservation, changing campsites, or making multiple reservations in order to stay over 14-days is PROHIBITED! VIOLATORS MAY HAVE RESERVATIONS CANCELLED WITHOUT NOTICE. Please do the right thing.
  • All pets must be penned, caged or on a leash no longer than 6 feet; pets are prohibited on swim beaches, playgrounds, and in restrooms. You MUST clean up after your pet!
  • Fireworks and firearms are prohibited.
  • Maximum of 10 campers per single site. Registered campers are required to occupy campsite and must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Gray water (any wastewater from sinks, dishwashing, bathing, etc) or other waste water must be disposed of properly at campground dump station.
  • For campfires, use only dead wood gathered from the ground and contain fire in designated fire rings or grills only. Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Don't movefirewood.org for further information.
  • Keep your campsite and campground clean. Keep your trash contained and frequently remove trash from campsite (dumpsters located within campground). Do not leave litter in fire ring or on campsite upon check out.
  • Inflatables including water slides, jumping houses, etc. and/or carnival type rides/events are not permitted.
  • For a complete set of rules and regulations concerning, please refer to Title 36, Chapter III, Part 327 - Rules and Regulations Governing Public Use of Corps of Engineers Water Resources Development Projects.
