I really wasn't expecting such a nice place but this one is a perfect spot to relax. Our area had pull through only all sites facing the water, some to the east, some west. It was extremely well maintained, mowed, clean, and well managed by friendly hosts. The dump station was a little remote, but if that's not really such a bad thing and if it's the hardest thing this site has to offer, it's a five star site.

It is a great campground for what we needed, a place to overnight. It was really hot when we stayed there and the attendant at the check in booth asked if she could move us to a spot that had shade. A nice gesture that was greatly appreciated. Well run and clean, a really nice campground.

Very nice campground. The staff at the gate were friendly and helpful. The bathhouse was extremely clean. Showers, fresh water, electricity, and dump station for the price is awesome!! Will be back for sure.

Park was great. People were great. Only issue was the flies. You could not enjoy sitting outside, they were all over you. Kept flyswatters busy in and out of the camper.

We went camping for 2-1/2 weeks in Kansas and Colorado and were very disappointed with the campgrounds. Then we found Left Tailrace campground in South Dakota! This is how a campground should be. Clean, efficient, green grass, trees, shade, friendly employees, everything we are used to in Wisconsin. I sent camping information to our friends because I know they would greatly appreciate Left Tailrace campground too!

We loved this spot. We did book an RV spot near the waterfront but we tent camped for a night. The view was incredible. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Facilities were clean. We will definitely stop here again if passing through the area for a night.

We always enjoy our time there. Pleasant staff and always clean! Chamberlain has an excellent Indian museum, The SD Hall of Fame, an excellent and very interesting Veterans Park and the Dignity Statue that is a must see if you need something to do in bad weather or poor fishing times!
