Easy all the way around. Easy to check in, access to Visitor Center, access to evening program at Amphitheater, and the scenic drive. Lovely vistas from the campground as well.

Cedar Pass Campground offers beautiful scenery and a perfect location for exploring the Badlands, with friendly campground hosts and clean, spacious sites that provide privacy. Guests enjoy excellent stargazing opportunities and convenient access to trails and facilities. However, some reviews mention outdated showers and occasional cleanliness issues in the bathrooms, as well as a lack of shade and privacy between sites. Overall, visitors appreciate the campground's charm and its proximity to the park's attractions.

Staying within the park is amazing for being able to hike later in the evening and early mornings when the heat is lowest! It is also great for attending the evening shows in the amphitheater. We tent-camped here on an incredibly hot weekend and the lack of shade in the campground caused us to leave a night early, but it's just the nature of the landscape, no fault of the campground. We hiked in the evening and got to the Notch trail FIRST of anyone in the morning, the moment the sun rose, and were able to still enjoy the landscape and trails despite the 110 degrees! We also hiked Castle at about 6:00 a.m. and were grateful to have started so early! Our site (58 Butte) was beautiful and I highly recommend getting a site in that area, or anywhere on the outer loop. There were parts of the campground so clogged with campers parked right on the road, and I'm so grateful we had such a peaceful setting!

The campground is open with great views of the surrounding area. In July it was hot and very breezy so be sure to guy out your tent. Restrooms & showers are clean.

Our Boy Scout troop was absolutely amazed at the Badlands. We loved the open hiking and exploring policy. Beautiful views and trails. The staff was helpful and friendly. We would love to come back and spend a little more time at the Badlands.

Great location. Easy access and good amenities. Windy when we were there. No shade. Good spot.

Campground has beautiful 360 views of the Badlands. The sites are really just pull-offs or turn-outs along the campground road. Can be tight if campground is full. Convienent to be right in the national park. Water and dump station is at front of campground.

Very clean and organized camp ground. The showers weren’t amazing but they’re good enough for camping. Would definitely recommend some strong bug spray, the mosquitos out there are no joke.
