Cedar Pass Campground offers beautiful scenery and a perfect location for exploring the Badlands, with friendly campground hosts and clean, spacious sites that provide privacy. Guests enjoy excellent stargazing opportunities and convenient access to trails and facilities. Pretty view at sites facing the Badlands, otherwise open grass with no trees. Sites are large. You get a small amount of shade from the covers over the picnic tables.
A crazy wind storm with 50 mph winds rolled through in the middle of the night. I had read about this so we were ok other than needing to add a few more rope ties to one of our high quality and low to ground backpacking tents when the winds started. About half the campground emptied due to winds and collapsed/broken tents. Equipment was blown all about. I think it would be worth including this info in the reservation booking info as it seems that most people were not prepared for this possibility.
Coin showers were fine (I think 50 cents for 4 mins). It was nice to have a sink designated for dishwashing outside of the showers. Not all the hose spigots were working but we were able to use the dishwashing sink to fill water bottles as well walk a few minutes to the next spigot.
The location is great and close to the visitor center. The nighttime ranger talk was nice; it was broken into 3 separate talks back to back, one of them being star gazing. They had telescopes set up but it was too overcast to see stars.

Our family had a wonderful time at Badlands. The Cedar Pass campground was VERY CLEAN (especially the bathrooms) and the customer service at the lodge was pleasant. Our camp host Jade was kind, she brought a smile to our face each day and very informative about the grounds. We are looking forward to visiting again!

For the price, this was dreadful value. Pitches are simply half-turnouts but the clincher was absolutely filthy toilets, clearly not been properly cleaned for several days, if not weeks. We've stayed at some great and some average NP campgrounds at Wind Cave and other locations, but this was hands-down the worst, and at a price point about 50% more than the others!

Beautiful site, our site had no shade but thankfully it was not a hot day when we stayed. Also was very windy, so be sure to stake down tents!

We were on the road for 20 days, 20 different overnight locations. Cedar pass and badlands is the one place I wish I planned a 2nd night.
Loved it.

Priceless location within the Badlands and great facilities. Very clean. If you have an rv the site on the outside are preferable as the loop is a one way and your step would be towards the road if you were on the inner side of the loop. But no big deal. The view makes up for any little details like this:)

One Star because the facilities were good and the bathrooms clean. I had a very bad experience with the noise curfew. The rules say no generators past 8:00 PM. There was nobody at the camp host site available so I went straight to the campsite itself that was running a very noisy generator and told him the rules. He did not comply. When he finally shut the noisy generator off at 10 o’clock there was a round of applause. I tried calling the Camp Ranger, the sheriff in the local town, and a sheriff call center with no success for something so simple. MAKE YOUR RULES VERY CLEAR.

beautiful campground with the badlands skyline in front of setting sun. Sites were a little ackward as you park by the side of the road; we turned the wrong way on a “one way” to get access to camper on the correct side. Great picnic table with shelter that was needed with the heat and wind. Bath house was clean and fully operational.
