No mobile phone signal, but free unsecured wifi was available via the Restaurant nearby. Toilets weren’t particularly clean by the morning, but really that is a reflection on the other campers using the facilities. Ranger presentation was brilliant, and she made the science elements fun and informative.

Facilities are clean and functional, just dated. The bathrooms can get a bit warm on a warm day. Showering out in this environment is a miracle. Sites are close. We had a site 1 which was nice because it was a bit more removed. All non-electric camping but water is easy and close. Beautiful area, 4th stay at this campsite. Would definitely stay again. Always very windy.

Great rangers and great campsites

The campsite was well marked and clean. The main bathroom was also clean although a side bathroom was not so much. It was unclear if the water available was drinkable. The drinking fountains did not work. The evening was quiet after dark.

Hot hot hot! Plan on early rising for hiking, biking and then touring in a vehicle to get thru the heat of the day. Never stayed in a campsite like this. Campers/Vans/RVs set up on the circle drive road. Tents can be on the grass. So windy and no shade anywhere. Couple miles away in Interior, SD is Cowboy Corner a small gas station/grocery/restaurant that saved us for some fruit, basic grocery items and ice! Do Notches, Door, & Window Hikes. Good way to beat the heat is a visit to Wall Drug. Nice amphitheater at the park by the campsite for Ranger led programming!

Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
