Loved the everchanging view of the pinnacles as clouds passed overhead. Mule deer walked on by and listened to coyotes as dusk fell.

Cedar Pass Campground offers beautiful scenery and a perfect location for exploring the Badlands, with friendly campground hosts and clean, spacious sites that provide privacy. Guests enjoy excellent stargazing opportunities and convenient access to trails and facilities. However, some reviews mention outdated showers and occasional cleanliness issues in the bathrooms, as well as a lack of shade and privacy between sites. Overall, visitors appreciate the campground's charm and its proximity to the park's attractions.

For tent campers, be aware that most RVs leave their exterior lights on/run generators etc throughout the night. Otherwise, well groomed tent sites, clean bathroom, and well kept benches are present at tent sites. If you are a dedicated tent camper and don't mind a pit toilet, sage creek is 100x better for wildlife viewing, star observation, and immersing yourself in the badlands.

Loved that you could watch and interact with paleontologists at work on fossils! Had so much fun seeing the Bison! And the lookouts were outstanding. Notch Trail was challenging, but we're glad we did it -- although, do it for the experience, because that view isn't worth the effort in itself! haha

Park is amazing and the campsites, while not typical site, where well maintained and quite comfortable. Even though we were there during the gov't shutdown, everything was clean and nice.
The stars at night, sunrises and sunsets on the backdrop of the Badlands makes this a "must-do".

The accommodations at Cedar Pass were good considering you're deep in the heart of the Badlands. Restrooms and showers were accessible and clean. Electric hookups were a must considering it was 96 degrees when we visited. Sunset and sunrise were beautiful. The only minor complaint is the showers cost money...not much...but some...but there was no hot water. Maybe they felt it wasn't necessary since it was so hot out. Who knows. Anyway, I will definitely stay there again.
