What Guests Are Saying

Cedar Pass Campground offers beautiful scenery and a perfect location for exploring the Badlands, with friendly campground hosts and clean, spacious sites that provide privacy. Guests enjoy excellent stargazing opportunities and convenient access to trails and facilities. However, some reviews mention outdated showers and occasional cleanliness issues in the bathrooms, as well as a lack of shade and privacy between sites. Overall, visitors appreciate the campground's charm and its proximity to the park's attractions.

This campground is A number one. The sites are spacious and have a picnic shelter with sturdy picnic tables. The host was very friendly and helpful. Bathrooms were clean and dishwashing station had two deep sinks and great water pressure. If you are tenting bring long sturdy ropes to tie your tent to the picnic shelter supports. It can get windy there. We had our dog with us and hiked the NorthEast Rd which was gravel. The scenery was wonderful and very little traffic. We drove the loop road the next day and went into Wall. The historic drug store is a must see. This is a beautiful park and was a great experience.

The place is kept super clean -- managed by friendly Tom the Parks guy. There is a huge beach to walk (although littered with debris fyi) and the grounds are lovely also. At this time of year (mid April), there were only a couple other campers so it was quiet because we had the place to ourselves. The showers work wonderfully if you pick the correct one of 2 choices. The bathrooms are clean and modern. It is a very nice place to spend some time, and if you come at the right time, you might see a lot of birds.

The campground is basic. It’s in the middle of the park and feels smack dab in the middle of no where. There are no trees so you see all your neighbors. The sites are somewhat spaced in that you are not right next to someone but you’ve got neighbors in front and behind you. All of this is fine and within expectations. Water, electric and dump are all available and convenient. The biggest complaint I have is the pay showers that do not have hot water. Seems to be hit or miss because the men in our group were able to take hot showers but the women’s bathroom water was freezing.
