This campground is in a GREAT LOCATION within the park. It is within walking distance of the visitors' center and a quick drive to the best parts of Badlands.

The sites were fine. We didn't love the "pull over to the side of the road" type setup and would have preferred true pull-through or back-in campsites. The park could also benefit from additional sites with electrical hookups. When we visited, it appeared that the park was beginning work on improving some of the sites in our loop of the campground.

The views from the campground were awesome, and again, you can't beat the location.

It was July in the Badlands, so it was hot. But, the campsite had a shaded picnic table and power. If you are tent camping, I'd recommend waiting until the sun is setting before setting up camp. BEAUTIFUL views of the sky, and we even saw a family of deer running through camp in the evening.

It was a great place to stay to see the local sights. The facilities were in great shape. Recommend the amphitheater talks and star gazing.

What a view! No trees, wide open. Brutal sun and hot in summer. Packed in kinda tight. Very good location for seeing the park. Right in the middle of it all. Be sure to hike if you can.

This campground is right in the heart of Badlands. Nice views and the CG has close water and bathroom access with a dump station.

We realize that if it's named The Badlands, it might not be that comfortable. We had an exquisite tour of the park. It was stunningly gorgeous. We delayed our arrival to camp as long as we could with the hope that the temperature would cool off. We checked out our reserved site, and it was still 104 degrees at 6:00 PM. With a dog and no way to cool off our camper, along with getting bitten by a bunch of flies, we decided to venture along and get a hotel.

Be mindful the campground is in the Park and the lands are still privately owned by the tribe so there is a $30 entry fee plus your camping. The restrooms have 2 stoles, so the mornings and evening times are kind of congested.
