Dakota Campground offers well-maintained, shaded sites that are fairly level and equipped with picnic tables and fire rings. The staff is helpful and accommodating, providing amenities like fire pits and firewood, and the park features a nice pool and a playground. While the campground is not ideal for large rigs and can be close-knit, it provides a clean, quiet, and friendly environment, making it a great spot for short stays.

Sites were stone and fairly level. The area is nice and the roads very drivable. Lots of trees and a cute play area. The pool looked wonderful but we didn't have enough time to take a dip. The office staff was very helpful and accommodating. We stayed overnight two different times and they brought fire pits and firewood right to our site. We would stay again!

This is a nice place for a one or two night stay. We stayed for one night while passing through. It was easy to make a reservation online. Prior to arrival, we called ahead because we would be arriving at 12:30pm instead of 1pm (check-in time). The lady said check-in was at 2pm, but I verified that the email confirmations say check in is at 1pm. Luckily they were able to accommodate us when we arrived, but that’s definitely something to note about check-in time.

The park is clean with lots of shade trees. The grass between sites is mowed. It must’ve rained at some point because the roads were flooded with standing water. Sites have fire rings and picnic tables. The sites are pretty close together with not much space between them. Aside from neighbors who arrived and set up camp at 9:30pm, the campground was quiet.

We have a 45’ class A with a tow vehicle. We booked a pull through site (site 17). I would not say this park is big rig friendly. If we hadn’t arrived early to a mostly empty campground, we would have had to unhook our tow and even then we probably would have had to back into our pull through site. I think this park is suited more towards travel trailers or rigs less than 40’.

We used our own camper for our room 😊. But this place is well maintained with gravel parking sites. The owner takes the new camper to their spot and shows them which direction to park. The restrooms are clean and have showers. There is a swimming pool onsite which is “at your own risk”. We thoroughly enjoyed our spot and enjoyed meeting another person who was just learning how to back up to hook on to her camper. We felt safe and glad to have found such a lovely place at Mitchell.

Josh is very personable. He does go to great measures to make this campground functional and enjoyable. He really stresses about the cleanliness of the pool.
He really saved my backside. We were having electrical problems. We did try everything we could think of but nothing. I called Josh after hours to see if he knew of a mobile rv service. He came to see if he could help. He fixed it in minutes. I'm too embarrassed to say what he did. He said it was something that happens and to not worry about. Again, he so personable.

What a nice campground! The host was so friendly and laid back. The noise was nonexistent. So nice to hear the different birds chirping. The pricing is very reasonable. They have a playground for kids and it is dog friendly. We will be back again! Thank you for a nice relaxing time. We so needed this.
