Cottonwood Campground is consistently praised for its beautiful scenery, cleanliness, and friendly atmosphere. Recent upgrades, such as concrete pads and improved facilities, have enhanced the camping experience, along with the quiet surroundings and ample shade. While some visitors noted minor concerns like the lack of full hookups and the need for trimming trees, overall, campers enjoyed their stays and appreciated the well-kept amenities and peaceful environment.

Decent site Very hard to get into with 2 trees right on each front side of the driveway
Jason (the ranger) is absolutely fenominal. Had a packaged delivered to the office and he personally delivered it to our site.
Would recommend camping at this Army Corp park if you have a chance to.

The camp hosts were friendly and helpful; the campground is very nice and was well maintained. There is no kind of ground-cover separation between campsites (and I felt a bit like I was intruding on other campers to get to and from the bathroom/shower building). Lots of little flies at the time of year I was there (early/mid-September, and hot); they weren't biting, but they were definitely annoying. This campground is on the north side of the river and based on Google Maps I thought it was in South Dakota, so some of my web searches were confusing me — apparently the campground is technically in Nebraska.
