Cottonwood Campground is consistently praised for its beautiful scenery, cleanliness, and friendly atmosphere. Recent upgrades, such as concrete pads and improved facilities, have enhanced the camping experience, along with the quiet surroundings and ample shade. While some visitors noted minor concerns like the lack of full hookups and the need for trimming trees, overall, campers enjoyed their stays and appreciated the well-kept amenities and peaceful environment.

Love this park. I've been traveling all over US mostly staying at COE parks. This one's a real gem. Very well maintained. Lot's of green space. Many sites with lake views. All looked level to me. Nice bike/walk trails along Lake Yankton. Fisherman can choose between MO River, Lake Yankton or Lake Lewis & Clark. Beautiful town of Yankton only 6 mi away for shopping, restaurants & gas stations. Very clean shower house for busy campground. I was on site #26. Last site on North loop near gate house. Plenty of space between sites.

We stayed at this Campground for two nights while in the area. It was a wonderful experience. We were on site p-59 which was waterfront. Our site was nearly level and had electric hook up only. The site was asphalt and had a great little crushed gravel patio area with a firefoot and aluminum picnic table. The campground was very quiet and the grounds were very clean. We did use the restrooms and shower and both were very clean and well stocked. We would definitely stay here again if in the area and would try to stay longer.
