Cottonwood Campground is consistently praised for its beautiful scenery, cleanliness, and friendly atmosphere. Recent upgrades, such as concrete pads and improved facilities, have enhanced the camping experience, along with the quiet surroundings and ample shade. While some visitors noted minor concerns like the lack of full hookups and the need for trimming trees, overall, campers enjoyed their stays and appreciated the well-kept amenities and peaceful environment.

Cottonwood campground is quiet and peaceful. We enjoy biking, kayaking, and walking above and below the dam. We walked across the Meridian Highway Bridge which is a bridge that formerly carried U.S. Route 81 across the Missouri River between Nebraska and South Dakota. Check out The Dairy Dock for delicious ice cream!

Nice park, excellent bathroom/shower. My only complaint is that it's a bit noisy, but well within reason. Happy people noise is just part of this type of campground. Otherwise, it's clean, very safe and enjoyable. Within an easy carry to the water for fishing or boating. Sites were level and smooth and plenty long for our car and 14' trailer.

Noise level: B
Facilities: clean
Overall vibe: Busy but chill
Returnability: You bet
