I was very disappointed this time. The grass had not been mowed and it was waist high. We have been going there for well over 10 years and I had never saw the grass that high. There are people who have to walk in the grass and the kids are all the time playing in it. I'm sure that there were ticks and snakes and whatever in it. To me it was very dangerous. I have suggested several times that speed bumps should be put over by the playground. Vehicles fly thru there and I have saw kids almost ran over. The main host are very nice and polite, but I cannot say that for the fill ins. They were very hateful to some, while others got away with parking their kyake trailers in the grass below their campsite, which is definetely not alllowed.

Bath house condition is pathetic. We have camped here for years. The bath house that serves the west loop of the campground needs major work. (This applies to the men's side; I can't attest to the condition of the women's side.) One of the two urinals has been removed. There are three shower stalls. In the past, all three had wooden benches which were convenient for placing items and clothes while showering. Two of the three are now gone. Also, the hooks in each shower vestibule are broken off, and coupled with the missing benches, means that I had to place my items on top of the cinder block wall. A shorter person would not have that option. Finally, the mini-split unit mounted above the sink counter is not draining properly, causing a pool of water to collect on the counter. Yuck! Corp of Engineers needs to address this place!

We had a good time. If I had any suggestions or recommendations it would be to stay open later in the year. I realize the camp ground would not be as crowded but the retired community and fishermen would really enjoy it. The lake cools fishing improves and camp fires starts.

This was the first trip me and my Girl have ever gone on alone. Everyone was welcoming, helpful, and kind. We camped on the island, and had an amazing time. Water was clear, nights were clear, 100% will be returning.

It’s beautiful. The camp host are caring & helpful. Quiet hours are observed. The bathrooms & showers are clean & well-maintained with excellent water pressure.
The grounds are very well-maintained & patrolled by staff & even a deputy. It’s very safe feeling.
There really isn’t anything other than small stores & restaurants closer than an hour away so make sure that you stock up on what you need. The little restaurant a mile from the campground sells meat by the pound & serves an excellent breakfast.
We did find ticks in some of the grassy areas but it’s the outdoors so no big shock. There were so many fireflies!
The lots were spacious. We didn’t have one of the hooks to hang garbage like other lots but the dumpsters are easily accessible.
It’s wonderful there & I cannot wait to go back again.
