Willow Grove Campground

The campground hosts were very accommodating. Our spot had a great view of the lake.
Only complaint is, the neighboring campers were up and loud. This lasting after midnight. I camp in a tent! No sound blocking with tent camping!

We had a wonderful stay! The marina being right there was absolutely amazing and made everything so convenient. A couple of small things could make the campground even better: the campsite numbers are along the road and can be a little hard to see if you arrive later in the day. We also wished there was a path down to the water for those who park their boats in the cove. The grass around the area could use a little mowing as well.

Other than those minor things, everything was wonderful, and we really enjoyed our stay! We would definitely come back.

As always had a wonderful experience...campground host were great, the campsites with the view of the lake are gorgeous, and the boat rental was excellent! Thanks again for another fantastic week!!

There is a relatively new bath house/ restroom in the campground that is closed and has been for several years. Why is it not being reoaired or completed and opened?
One of the other 3 bath houses was full of sewer flies and barely fit to use. These conditions should be addressed and corrected ASAP.

I have been camping at Willow Grove for many years. Nearly 40 years, I believe. You have one of the most beautiful settings of any lake I have ever visited. Willow Grove Campground at Dale Hollow Lake is a treasure.

However, for the past 8 or so years, the facilities have been mostly neglected. Particularly, the restroom/shower houses. What is the issue with the shower house in the site 1-16 location? It has been closed for years. Can the septic system not be fixed? Set a large septic tank and pump it out once a week if you can't fix the present system.

The newer showers at the west side of the campground, while a nice new structure, already have plumbing and air circulation problems. Half the time, there is no hot or even warm water and the water that is there, comes out in a trickle. It's a real shame.

But the worst thing about the campground is that it is only open from late May to the first Tuesday after Labor Day every year. What a waste! Many retirees would use this facility well into late October. Fisherman would probably camp there earlier in the spring and in the fall, camp there through Thanksgiving. Maybe longer. Attendant's have even said they would stay later in the year if the park remained open.

As for a positive statement about the campground, your attendants and volunteers are wonderful people and have always been helpful. They do a great job for you and the campers. The trash dumpsters are emptied frequently and the grass is cut once a week, weather permitting.

If you could only look at the campground from the perspective of the citizens who use it. Willow Grove Campground has so much to offer but the Corps is apparently unable to see what it could be. It was once exceptional, but of late, it has fallen well below what should be a standard in expectations.

There is nowhere on the lake that I would rather stay, but as things continue to deteriorate, we will have to consider alternatives. Facilities are that important.

Nice COE campground in beautiful setting with electric and water on site with dump station. Sites are level and spaced well. Road back to campground is very windy and tight for larger rigs. Ours is a 40 ft fifth wheel - we made is fine just be careful. Once back to campground it is very peaceful and nice.

such a beautiful setting with spacious campsites clean bath houses great marina just down the road….stayed on spot 23 with beautiful lake access …. the attendant at the entry station was filing in for the regular person … she was excellent so kind and willing to help us find a spot we did not preregister just drove up

Willow Grove is a somewhat smaller park. It is very peaceful and calm, overlooking Dale Hollow Lake. The check-in went smoothly, and the park hosts were great. We had to leave early because my husband injured his knee before our visit. The host was kind, checked us out, and we were refunded one night's stay before we arrived home. There are two things all visitors should know; one is the park's isolation. Be sure to take all the essentials you need. There are no nearby shops other than the marina, which is literally just down the dead-end road, where you can purchase items, but be prepared to pay. The second is the curvy roads. I do mean curvy.
