Watauga Dam Campground

This is no joke one of the best campgrounds we have stayed at. We stayed in sites 21 and 22 which was close to the office, overlooked the water, with a well kept and clean bathroom and shower. Granted there is only one shower but it had hot water. If you are planning cell service or wireless there is none. Your best bet is to go with a starlink or a satellite service. Friendly staff that brings out the firewood you order and picks up your trash from the campsite compliments the experience.

Beautiful, quiet. Great for fly fishing. No signals of any type. Must go 2 miles up mountain to day use area to get signals and view of lake.
On the Appalachian trail.

An absolutely amazing little campground! It's hidden at the end of the road below Watauga Dam. Campsites right on the river with a steep rock mountain on the opposite bank. Beautiful! Bathrooms and showers are clean and they pick up your trash at your campsite daily. The camp hosts, Daphne and her husband, were wonderful. They were welcoming and friendly. We loved this place!

Beautiful, quiet, small campground. No tents. RVs only. Well maintained.

One of our favorite places to unplug and unwind. Where else can you camp and catch trout. It's very peaceful and quiet and the staff is friendly and helpful. Lake Watsgua is close by and the Appalachian Trail is close also by. Camp sites are roomy. They have electric , water, fire rings, and picnic tables. There is a dump station. The bathrooms are clean
