What Guests Are Saying
Cages Bend Campground is highly praised for its beautiful location on Old Hickory Lake, well-maintained sites, and friendly, helpful hosts, Tanya and Donnie. Campers appreciate the cleanliness of the facilities, spacious sites, and peaceful atmosphere, making it a favorite among visitors. While some noted the lack of sewer hookups and rocky shorelines for boating, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

We stayed at this beautiful campground for two nights in October. Site 28 the first night and Site 33 the second. Concrete pads, paved roads, beautiful trees, easy to access dump station and very friendly campground host. Close to town for groceries and restaurants, too!

Some of the roads accessing the park and inside the park are extremely narrow and a bit scary! Would be nice to widen and upgrade them. I’m sure that’s big $$ though. Here is a low budget suggestion:
We have noted that more and more people are putting out bright LED lights around their campsite or on their vehicle and leaving them on all night, which detracts from the camping experience. Some campgrounds are going to a “dark hours” policy the same as a noise making policy - no bright exterior lights from 10-6. This would greatly help stargazers and others who are affected by the increasing light pollution problem.

Can't say enough about this campground, it's our favorite so far in our travels. Each site is huge, very scenic and overlooks the lake from most sites, has cheap laundry which was great but only one of each machine, the staff guy in the Welcome Center Hut was so nice and helpful at all times, one thing to take note on is...they DON'T let you "check in" EARLY at all but town is close by to waste time so that was good, bathrooms are clean and exceptable but do need some updating but the handicap bathroom on side of the building is brand new. All in all we can't wait to come back here again in the near future!!
Helpful hint though....this campground is ALWAYS FULL, so book your sites in plenty of advance to get a spot. You won't be disappointed, its worth checking it out for yourselves! 🤗😀🌞
