What Guests Are Saying
Cages Bend Campground is highly praised for its beautiful location on Old Hickory Lake, well-maintained sites, and friendly, helpful hosts, Tanya and Donnie. Campers appreciate the cleanliness of the facilities, spacious sites, and peaceful atmosphere, making it a favorite among visitors. While some noted the lack of sewer hookups and rocky shorelines for boating, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

I enjoyed my stay and the host was great but the site #43 was not good. There are dividers in the site that we tripped over at least once per day. I see no reason for them to be there and they are a hazzard. I would ask that they be removed for safety sake.

People rave about this place so we couldn't wait to experience it. The good: very friendly camp host and all the guests we encountered were great. You get the feeling that many of them more or less live here. It is quiet and the setting overlooking the lake is very pretty. There is a small fishing pier on site that was nice, just needed someone to pick up the trash. The not so good: The sites are just OK. They seem tired and many are either quite small, very close together, or angled to where it would be difficult to pull in. Lots of debris (tires, shoes, cans, etc.) washed up on the shore of our waterfront site. Too much algae and weeds to make fishing from the bank any fun. The grass was way overgrown throughout the site. Fire pit isn't a ring in the ground like you would expect at a camp site but a rusted-out raised shelf that I suppose serves its purpose but doesn't really work for a real campfire. There was also this strange hunk of concrete off behind the site that maybe once had a purpose but now just gets in the way and creates something to trip over in the dark. In my mind, the whole thing just reeks of apathy. All in all it was not as enjoyable as others (Seven Points comes immediately to mind) so we probably wouldn't stay here again.
